Ally integration in D2L provides the ability to improve the accessibility and usability of course content created and uploaded into D2L, as well as provide students with the opportunity to access and download accessible alternative formats for course files.
The Accessibility Report provides an overview of the accessibility of course materials, and identifies areas for improvement to ensure all students can access course content.
Alternative Formats provided by Ally make course files in D2L more accessible for all learners. These formats, such as audio, ePub, electronic braille, and mobile-friendly HTML, are available for many file types, including PDFs, Word documents, PowerPoints, and D2L HTML pages.
Indicators and Scores provided by Ally will scan created and/or uploaded content in D2L for accessibility, using the WCAG2.1 AA standards as a guide. Once the scan is complete, content items will be assigned an accessibility score and indicator.
View and Correct Accessibility Issues provided by Ally identifies accessibility issue(s) and step-by-step instructions to correct and improve the overall accessibility score of the file through the feedback panel.
